Apple Sauce Cookies
Makes: 4 dozen cookies

cup of White House ® Apple Sauce |
½ |
cup shortening |
1 |
cup sugar (white or brown) |
1 |
egg |
2 ¼ |
cup all-purpose flour |

tsp. baking powder |
½ |
tsp. cinnamon |
¼ |
tsp. nutmeg |
1/8 |
tsp. ground cloves |
½ |
tsp. salt |

cup raisins |
1 |
cup walnuts or pecans, chopped |
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Add egg and White House Apple Sauce .
ADD dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
STIR in raisins and nuts.
DROP from teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

White House ® Old Fashioned Apple Sauce Cake
Makes: 1 Bundt cake

cup whole wheat flour |

tbsp. Pumpkin pie spice |
1/4 |
tsp. ground cloves |

tsp. baking powder |
1/2 |
tsp. baking soda |

cup of White House ® Apple Sauce |
1/2 |
cup vegetable oil |
2 |
tsp. vanilla extract |
3 |
eggs |
Caramel Apple Glaze *

tbsp. White House Apple Sauce |
1/4 |
cup packed light brown sugar |
1 |
tbsp. butter or margarine |
1 |
tbsp. light cream or milk |
3/4 |
cup confectioners' sugar |
1/4 |
cup walnuts or pecans, toasted, chopped (optional) |
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease 10-inch Bundt pan.
Combine first 8 ingredients in mixing bowl.
ADD White House Apple Sauce , oil, vanilla and eggs. Mix on low speed until ingredients are moistened.
BEAT on high speed for 2 minutes.
POUR into prepared pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
COOL in pan for 20 minutes then turn out and cool completely.
Caramel Apple Glaze * : In saucepan, combine sugar, White House Apple Sauce , butter and cream. Bring to a boil. Continue boil, stirring, for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat; cool 20 minutes. Whisk in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Spoon over top of cake. Garnish with nuts.
