The following promotion is intended for viewing in the United States only, and shall be construed and evaluated according to the laws of United States. Do not proceed if you are not a legal U.S. resident residing in the United States.

White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe Contest

•  This Contest is a competition of skill. Entry is limited to persons who are 18 years of age or older and reside in AL, FL, GA, KY, MD, NC, PA, SC, TN, VA, or WV. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to submit an entry: (a.) persons who are younger than 18 years of age at the time of entry submission, (b) persons who do not reside primarily in AL, FL, GA, KY, MD, NC, PA, SC, TN, VA, or WV, (c) persons employed by National Fruit Product Co, Inc.; (c) employees of advertising and promotion agencies providing service for this contest; (d.) the Judges for this contest; (e) individuals engaged in the planning, development, production, or distribution of materials for this contest and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each of the preceding categories. A copy of the White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe Contest Official Rules may be obtained online by visiting www.allaboutvinegar.com , or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe Contest Official Rules P.O. Box 23200 Richmond, VA 23223. Requests by mail must be received by October 1, 2004 in order to be processed.

•  TO ENTER: Using White House Apple Cider Vinegar and/or White House White Distilled Vinegar as an ingredient, create an original recipe in one of the five Contest Categories. The five Contest Categories are: 1) Barbecue and Sauces; 2) Canning; 3) Desserts; 4) Veggies and Salads; 5) Entrees (main meal element). Each entry must be an original recipe created by the Entrant and cannot be any previously published recipe. Enter as often as you wish. Limit one entry per outer mailing envelope. Only one prizewinner allowed per household. Each recipe must be submitted as a separate entry submitted on an 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper and each recipe entry must meet the following requirements:

  • All recipes must include White House Apple Cider Vinegar and/or White House White Distilled Vinegar as an ingredient. All ingredients must be listed with exact U.S. measurements in order of use.
  • Recipes may be submitted in any one of five categories: 1) Barbecue and Sauces; 2) Canning; 3) Desserts; 4) Veggies and Salads; 5) Entrees. Entrants must indicate the intended Category on each recipe entry.
  • Recipe entries must be original, and cannot have been previously published or used for advertising or promotional purposes.
  • In addition to a recipe each entry must include: Entrant name, complete address and telephone number with area code, recipe name or title, number of servings that the recipe yields, and complete step-by-step preparation and cooking directions.
  • Entry recipe should have no more than twelve ingredients.
  • Recipe ingredients should be common ingredients that are readily available in most grocery stores.

3. TWO WAYS TO SUBMIT ENTRIES: The contest will begin at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on March 12, 2004 and end at 5:00p.m. (ET) on November 1, 2004.

•  To enter by mail, send entries to : White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe Contest ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ P.O. Box 23200 Richmond, VA 23223. All mailed entries must be neatly written or typed on an 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper. All mailed entries must be received at contest headquarters no later than 5:00p.m. (ET) November 1, 2004. Proof of mailing is not considered proof of delivery or receipt.

•  To enter electronically via the Internet go to www.allaboutvinegar.com and follow prompts to the Contest Entry Form and submit your entry. Electronic submissions must be received no later than 5:00p.m. (ET) November 1, 2004.

4. JUDGING and PRIZES : each recipe will be judged in one of five Categories. The five Contest Categories are: 1) Barbecue and Sauces; 2) Canning; 3) Desserts; 4) Veggies and Salads; 5) Entrees (main meal element). A qualified panel of judges appointed by the Sponsor will judge contest entries. Judging criteria will be taste appeal (60%), creativity (30%), and appearance 10%. In the case of a tie, taste appeal will be the criteria used as the tiebreaker. One recipe from each Category will be selected as a Category Winner, one recipe from each Category will be selected as a Category Runner-up and one recipe will be judged to be the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize Winner will be judged from among the Category Winners. The author of each recipe selected as a Category Winner will receive a KitchenAid ® Stand Mixer ( ARV $179.99 each). The author of each recipe selected as a Category Runner-Up will receive a White House product pack and an apron ( ARV $35 each). The author of the Grand Prize-winning recipe will also receive $500 cash plus a new Whirlpool Polara ä Refrigerated Range, the world's first refrigerated range. It combines state-of-the-art cooking with the convenience of refrigeration so you can plan and prepare meals up to a day ahead of time. (ARV$1,800.00) . Prizes are not transferable prior to award and no substitutions are allowed except that Sponsor, at its sole discretion, may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. All local, state, and federal taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Approximate retail value of all prizes is $2,874.95. Only one prizewinner allowed per household. Winners will be contacted at the address that appears on their recipe entry. Contest winners will be notified by mail on or about December 1, 2004. The decisions of the judges on all matters pertaining to this Contest are binding and final.

5. OTHER CONDITIONS: By participating, Entrants acknowledge that they have read and understand these Official Rules, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final, binding and conclusive on all matters. All entries and recipes become the property of Sponsor and its affiliated companies and none will be returned. By participating, Entrant agrees that Sponsor or its affiliated companies has the right to use , publish, edit, transfer or advertise the recipe, its name or title, and the name, hometown and likeness of the contestant for any advertising or publicity purposes without further notification, permission or additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Entrant grants to Sponsor and its affiliated companies any and all rights to the recipe entries of the Entrant and other use, including the right to modify recipes or recipe titles without further compensation. Winners will be required to sign and have notarized, an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Release of Publicity and Liability and return it within 14 days of notification or winner may forfeit all rights to any prize.

6. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating, Entrants agree to release and hold Sponsor and its affiliated companies harmless from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damage, cost or expense including without limitation property damage, personal injury and/or death arising out of participation in this contest or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize and acknowledge that the parties have neither made nor are in any way responsible or liable for any warranty, or guarantee, expressed or implied, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, or mechanical condition other than as provided by the prize description. Sponsor and its agents are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrectly addressed, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable, destroyed or postage-due mail entries or winner notification. Sponsor and its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate Entry information, human error, technical malfunctions, failures, omissions, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, server providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this contest, inability to access the www.allaboutvinegar.com web site, theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of Entries, transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, printing or human errors. Nor for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, malfunctions, failed computer hardware, software or other transmissions on technical failures, garbled transmissions or other failures of any kind.

7. NOTIFICATION: Winners will be contacted at the address that appears on their recipe Entry. Winners will be notified via mail on or about December 1, 2004. It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if address or other contact information changes. Sponsor and its affiliated companies will not be responsible for finding winners if they have moved or changed addresses and have left no forwarding information. Any changes in contact information should be sent to White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe Contest Administrator, P.O. Box 23200 Richmond, VA 23223.

8. LIST OF WINNERS AND RECIPES: For a list of Contest Winners please send a stamped, self-addressed #10 envelope to White House® Versatile Vinegar Recipe List of Winners P.O. Box 23200 Richmond, VA 23223. List of winners and winning recipes will be available after January 3, 2005.
