Tangy vs. Smokey Barbeque Sauce

We tested both of these recipes out using White House Foods® products and we can not choose a favorite!

The Tangy recipe using White House Foods® Signature Apple Cider Vinegar while the Smokey calls for our Classic Applesauce!

White House Foods® Tangy Barbeque Sauce

What you'll need:

  • 3 cups of White House Foods® apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic granules
  • 2 teaspoons onion granules
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/3 cup of ketchup

How to make:

  • Mix the White House Foods® apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and salt in a pot and bring to a boil. 
  • Once the mixture is boiling, add in the rest of the ingredients. 
  • Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Cool and serve.

White House Foods® Smokey Apple Barbeque Sauce

What you'll need:

How to make:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a pot and heat on stove at medium heat. 

  • Let the mixture simmer for about an hour. Stir occasionally. 
  • After an hour, remove from heat.

 

TIP: Store the sauce in clean, White House Foods® applesauce/butter jars with lid on tight in the refrigerator.
